Slacklife Inc. Slackline India Slacklining

AW Line - Slacker in Chief - Review

The AW line is the first webbing manufactured for Slacklining in India.
It is made from Polyester, it is pretty stretchy and fairly soft.

Just yesterday, I went and rigged it up on a highline for the very first time. Here is my take back from it.

This webbing that I have gotten manufactured, was break-tested by me in the factory and it broke above 25 KN. Including the Sewn Loops. This isn't on the highest side, however internationally there are some really popular webbings that we highline on who have an MBS of 22/23KN and Sewn Loop strength of 20.4

Having no doubt that this was safe enough to highline, and having complete trust in my rigging skills and knowledge, I went out for a mission.  All of yesterday was spent bouncing and playing around on the line.

Con's:

  • Slightly sharp edges for free style and line catches.
Considering we are making webbing in India for the first time. This isn't bad at all, hopefully the next batch we can figure out how to make the edges softer. For my freestyle session on the highline, I just wore a pair of gloves and then the sharpness wasn't a problem.

I am taking the softness comparison from Pink tube or RedTube by Slacktivity.

Pro's:

  • soft to walk on
  • stretchy and bouncy enough for polyester
  • 53 g/m
  • 50 meter webbing weighs under 3 kg.

Over all:
- Ideal for learning longline walking.
- fun to freestyle on, give a good stretch.
- Great for back up on a highline
- Decent for main highlines. There are sharper webbing out there, there are also softer ones.
